Directions in Music-Directions in Music专辑介绍
Directions in Music is the result of a three-day recording session at Chicago's Idful Music. It is a landmark album that represents Bundy K. Brown's commitment to innovation in his post-Tortoise days. For this session, he brings together fellow underground proponents James Warden and Doug Scharin, of Rex, HiM and June of 44 fame. The result is an eight-song work of intriguingly radical texture. Taking a standard guitar, bass and drums format and overdubbing, splicing, mixing and adding various noises, the three create an auditory masterpiece. Both catchy and complex at the same time, the album pleases on first listen and astounds thereafter. The dynamics range from the fast-paced euphoria of "4" to the somber "7" (none of the songs are titled.) Directions in Music lies somewhere between the erudite Tortoise and a subtle country flavored outing. The album consistently amazes, and one can only hope that this musical endeavor continues.
