Eyes Of Innocence

Eyes of Innocence was the first mainstream release by the Miami Sound Machine. It became the band's breakthrough album due to the success of the lead single, the dance hit "Dr. Beat", a top 20 hit in Australia, the United Kingdom and other places in Europe. "Dr. Beat" was the most successful cut from the album; the song utilizes synthesizers and dance rhythms of the time, but distinguished itself from other pop music of the era through the inclusion of Latin sounds.

The second single, "Prisoner of Love", was released exclusively to the European market, which was responding much better to the album than the American market had. However, the song, which had a similar sound to the previous single, wasn't a hit and was a commercial failure, only reaching number #98 in the UK Singles Chart.

Due to the failure of "Prisoner of Love", another single was released to the American market, "I Need a Man", but it too bombed, failing to even enter the dance charts.

With the failure of the last two singles, no more singles were released to promote the album except in the Philippines, where "I Need Your Love" was issued as a promo single only; again, it failed to impact any chart.

Many of the songs from the album were originally written in Spanish and translated into English, including "Orange Express", which was the main song of the band's previous album A Toda Máquina, and "I Need Your Love", a translation of the song "Regresa a Mí".

As of 2008, Eyes of Innocence has sold more than one million copies worldwide.

1975年,Miami Sound Machine成立于迈阿密,原名Miami Latin Boy。1977年加入表姊妹--主唱Gloria Estefan和Mercedes "Merci" Navarro,改名迈阿密之音，Gloria与团长Emilio Estefan Jr,并在78年结婚。1977年在Audiofon旗下推出首张西语大碟[Renacer / Live Again](西/英语两版)逐渐走红，79年跳槽CBS唱片

1957年出生于古巴的Gloria Estefan是美国最成功的拉丁跨界歌手，外祖父是西班牙移民，1959年由古巴共产革命移居美国，1977年她加入拉丁流行乐团Miami Sound Machine担任主唱，也参予词曲创作出了数西班牙语专辑，在拉丁音乐界已颇富盛名1984年进军英语主流乐界，推出在Epic唱片公司旗下的首张英文专辑

1984年,美国拉丁流行乐团Miami Sound Machine推出第七张西班牙语大碟[A Toda Máquina/所有机器] (CBS International出版) 由波多黎各的Pepe Luis Soto制作. [A Toda Máquina]专辑很多歌曲被翻成英语,组成迈阿密之音推出总数第八张/首张英语大碟[Eyes of Innocence /纯真之眼],在1984年9月于国际发行.

推出第八张大碟／首张英语专辑［Eyes of Innocence］（Epic／CBS Records International） 由Emilio Estefan Jr.制作, 乐评中等．只是［Eyes of Innocence］并没入榜，但后来因为迈阿密之音走红，带起专辑销售，最后在美国拿到金唱片（50万张＋）
