The Waves series was put together in less than a month, and the main idea was to create a pop album that blends organic and electronic sounds in a minimal but satisfying manner while still maintaing complex lyrical content. It ended up being Jhameel's breakout release, with "White Lie" becoming an internet cult hit, "Waves" making its way around American national television, and "Collision" being placed in a Verizon commercial.
