This Town

You might remember Dirty Vegas' Grammy Award-winning dance hit "Days Go By," either from that stint in Ibiza where you spent 353 consecutive nights drinking heavily or from that 2002 Mitsubishi commercial, but what few remember is that the song that became a legend started out as simple acoustic folk-rock, bred of a broken heart. Dirty Vegas frontman Steve Smith has announced his return to such folk-rock with a solo debut album, This Town, out February 18 on G.A.S. Expect collaboration on this full-length not with the DJs of his past like Sasha and Paul Oakenfold, but with Claudia Gonson (Magnetic Fields) and Terry Barber (New York Symphony Orchestra). But for those still longing for the Ministry Of Sound-style Smith they once knew and loved, the release of This Town marks not only an acoustic tour in its support, but a round of Dirty Vegas DJ sets.
