一看到专辑名称Billie Holiday - Remixed & Reimagined便可得知唱片公司的企图心，继上一张妮娜．西蒙的【混音绝世版】受好评后，接续推出这张以Billie Holiday演唱为本的混音作品。
Billie Holiday与Ella Fitzgerald、Sarah Vaughan并称三大爵士女伶；她于30年代开始担任Count Basie、Artie Shaw等人的大乐团歌手，二十多岁已是爵士乐坛中首席歌手。虽然比莉的歌声不如Sarah Vaughan甜美、演唱技巧也不如Ella Fitzgerald多变，但她将一生乖舛的命运投射在她的音乐裡，歌声裡有著最真诚动人的情感，任何爵士歌手都直接或间接受到她诠释歌曲方式的影响。
不过熟悉比莉的乐迷也知道，她所留存的录音距今至少有五十年以上，要如何将这些老录音转换成饶富现代感的混音作品，这完全考验著DJ们的功力，因此唱片公司除延揽上一张专辑裡黄金DJ阵容外，这次也请到诸多新秀DJ跨刀。一开场的三首歌皆以充满Nu-Jazz和Hip Hop节奏风味重新再制Ella Fitzgerald为电影【Dancing on a Dream】演唱的《I Hear Music》、爵士标准曲《More Than You Know》以及King of Burlesque的插曲《Spreadin’ Rhythm Around》；英国双人黄金搭档Madison Park和Daniel Y分别送上带有Trip Hop和Lounge风格的《I’m Gonna Lock My Heart》以及不朽金曲《Billie’s Blue》。名列世界百大DJ行列、擅长浩室（House）风格的Tony Humphries这次则将Billie Holiday摇身一变成为舞池裡最耀眼的女子，将最经典的专辑【缎衣淑女】内《But Beautiful》一曲改编成带有迪斯可风味的舞曲。
