Birkin / Gainsbourg : Le symphonique

Presented by Metropolitan Entertainment, iconic singer-actress-model -- and namesake of the famed Hermes Birkin bag -- Jane Birkin comes to New York's Carnegie Hall with guest artist Rufus Wainwright and the Wordless Music Orchestra to celebrate her long artistic and personal collaboration with pop icon Serge Gainsbourg. This sure-to-be ultra-cool evening of French chansons follows the 2017 album release of Birkin/Gainsbourg: Le Symphonique, a collection of songs Gainsbourg wrote for Birkin during and after their relationship, reworked with full orchestral arrangements. The duo may be best known for their scandalous 1969 duet "Je t'aime ... moi non plus," which became a pop hit despite being banned across Europe for its sexual explicitness.
