Golden City

GOLDEN CITY is the new band from Eric Richter, former singer/guitarist/song-writer of CHRISTIE FRONT DRIVE, who were cited by Alternative Press in 2008 as one of the "23 Bands That Shaped Punk", having influenced everyone from Jimmy Eat World to The Get-Up Kids to Thrice and well beyond. Rounded out by guitarist Jim Lehnhoff, bassist Chris Peterson and drummer Jeremy Jones, GOLDEN CITY now assemble their 8 debut tracks for formal release into the wild. Recorded by Ian Love (Rival Schools, Cardia) songs like "Gray" and "Stars" evoke the insta-nostalgia that permeated Richter's work in CHRISTIE FRONT DRIVE, while the upbeat tempos of "Diamond Suits" and "Big Country" exude a new strikingly confident sophistication. All told, the eponymous debut of GOLDEN CITY is a study in the delicate balance of capturing the energy and spirit of glories past and channelling it all into a refreshingly new and exciting brand of emotional rock and roll.
