39 Laps

 Six years later, the band has two albums to its name, the self-titled and 39 Laps, and several touring stints around Europe under its belt. Monkey3 has been described as the "ultimate pyschostoner experience," and this is a apt description going into the CD.

 Certainly recommended for fans of the psych/stoner rock farm, Monkey3 has likely listened to its fair share of Tool and The Mars Volta. On some levels 39 Laps is a more enjoyable listen, as the straightforward approach makes the album immediately accessible and the band doesn't carry all the ridiculous stigma of the aforementioned. Monkey3 reminds us all that, when dealing with rock, it's best to focus on the music itself, and keep it simple, stupid.
