Swedish Jazz-Legend Sylvia Vrethammar is back for her 50th anniversary in showbusiness with her new album called "Vortex". This album includes 12 songs where Sylvia performs with superstars of the Swedish jazz-scene, by the likes of Magnus Lindgren (woodwinds), Joel Lyssarides (piano), Jan Lundgren (piano), Ulf Wakenius (guitar), Hans Backenroth (bass) as well as Frank Chastenier (keyboards). Of the 12 songs included, there are 4 songs each featuring Sylvia together with 2 of the musicians in alternating set-ups ... Sylvia with Lundgren & Backenroth ... Sylvia with Wakenius & Chastenier ... Sylvia with Lindgren & Lyssarides ... and the main goal with each recording-session was to perform the songs like you never heard them before. Best example pick would be the first track "Round Midnight" written by Thelonius Monk. This album is going to be a major release for Sylvia in Scandinavia and will be promoted on TV and radio with her 50 years anniversary-concert at the Stockholm Konserthus on September 28th, 2019 as the first official presentation of this album on stage.
