Lupa J

Lupa J is the creative project of Sydney-based producer and songwriter Imogen Jones. At age 15, Jones posted their first three tracks under the Lupa J alias on Soundcloud, immediately gaining attention from tastemakers at DIY Magazine, who wrote “there’s something in the way she makes predominantly electronic, gadgety things seem like they’ve come straight out of some pagan cave of organic sounds.” In Australia, national radio station triple j nominated them as a finalist for an unprecedented two years running in their Unearthed High competitions of 2014 and 2015. The release of their 2019 debut album, “Swallow Me Whole” was followed by a successful album tour, which included a sold-out show at Oxford Arts Factory Gallery Bar. It also earned a ‘Spotlight Artist’ feature in The Independent (U.K), FBi Radio’s 'Album Of The Week' and '5th Most Played Artist of 2019', a nomination for the Australian Music Prize and FBi Radio's SMAC Awards for 'Album of the Year' and was championed by Spotify in several songs in major editorial playlists.  Lupa J ended 2019 with the release of double-single "Half Alive" and "Out To Wreck", followed by “Limbo”, which was remixed by iconic duo, Stereogamous. With three EPs, a debut LP under their belt and a touring history that includes Grimes, Alice Glass, Sarah Blasko and Tegan and Sara, Lupa J is evolving into one of Australia's most unique and proven left-field pop voices.
