Wyldest
Wyldest is the musical project of London-based singer, songwriter and producer Zoe Mead.
Drawing on a wide range of influences from Depeche Mode and Talking Heads to Blonde Redhead and Siouxsie and the Banshees, Mead has been honing her unique brand of dream-pop out of initial bedroom recordings into more polished shoegaze-tinged outings, since meeting Hand In Hive Records at Green Man Festival in the summer of 2014.
Picking-up comparisons such as Daughter and Warpaint, her output has always enjoyed a wide range of support from Radio 1's Huw Stephens, through online coverage from the likes of GoldFlakePaint, Paste, The Independent and more.
With two EPs, a debut album and a slew of live performances - SXSW, The Great Escape, multiple UK tours - under her belt, the remarkably self-sufficient Mead continues to write, produce, engineer and create visuals for the Wyldest project from her Greenwich studio.
Her stunning cover of “You Could Be Happy” - originally by Snow Patrol - was used in ITV2’s Love Island in summer 2019, taking the version to #2 on the UK Shazam Chart and #14 on the iTunes Chart and leading to a duet with Gary Lightbody at The Royal Albert Hall.
Following the release of Redream Chaos - her lofi reworking of debut album Dream Chaos - in March 2020, Mead continues to create with endless enthusiasm, teaming-up with award-winning filmmaker Laurie Barraclough to compose a beautifully serene soundtrack EP for Birdwatcher, a new short film out 25th August.
