Shygirl

Starting as a photographer, she became a rapper after she was asked to appear on the track Want More by frequent collaborator, Sega Bodega. She released another 2 songs Msry and NVR as part of the single Msrynvr. Three singles, Starting with Gush, followed by O and Nasty would then be featured on her debut EP Cruel Practice, with the first and latter faving music videos released. The entire EP was produced by Sega bodega, apart from the track Gush, which was also produced by Dinamarca. In 2019, Shygirl released 3 standalone singles, Beauts, Uckers and Bb. The latter gained her much attention from many in both the Hip-Hop and electronic scenes, including legendary artist and later collaborator Björk, and 'Uckers' would go viral on TikTok in 2020 and 2021. In 2020, she was featured on many tracks by other artists' songs, such as Arca's Watch and Sophie's unreleased songs Inside Out and Gelato, from her 2020 HEAV3N SUSPENDED Livestream. In September and October 2020, two singles; Freak and Slime were released, which would be put on Shygirl's second EP Alias. Siren and Tasty would be released as post-release singles, and the two would be put on a 2021 RSD Exclusive with remixes of each respective song. Also, over the next month or so, lyric videos would be released for all 7 songs, excluding Slime, for it previously had a lyric video, however not in the style of the others. The lyric videos are animated visuals featuring Shygirl's 4 alter egoes, Baddie, Bae, Bovine and Bonk, with all being featured in both real life and animated form in the music video for 'SLIME'. In June 2021, the ALIAS era ended, and her 2nd droplet era begun with 'BLU', a short fim containing shortened versions of 'SIREN', 'SLIME', Twelve', 'FREAK' and 'Bawdy', and a brand new track, BDE featuring Slowthai. The song would be repackaged with a solo version and a remix with Florentino and Kaydy Cain as part of BDE 3XL. Soon after, Cleo was released, a house track released with a music video and a version recorded at Abbey Road with a full orchestra. In May 2022, Firefly would be released as the lead single for Nymph, her first studio album. In the coming months, Come For Me, Coochie (A Bedtime Story), Nike and Shlut would be released for the album, before its release in late september. Post release, many remixes would be released, including a remix of Heaven with Tinashe and a remix of Woe with Björk, among others. This would result in the release of Nymph_o, the remix album. In the latter months of 2023 and early months of 2024, Shygirl would release various singles, forming her EP Club Shy. The EP would focus on Eurodance, House, Dance and Club music, instead of her forte of experimental and industrial Hip-Hop. The EP would garner her much attention especially for the main single, Mr Useless. A remix EP called Club Shy RMX with remixes for all songs, as well as an original track, Encore. An album called Club Shy (Enxtended) would be released, containing all original tracks as well as extended mixes of all tracks. Shygirl would receive more notoriety in the Summer of 2024 for being the opening act for Charli XCX and Troye Sivan's joint tour called SWEAT. Shygirl would also feature on the fan favourite 365 featuring Shygirl, a remix of the track 365, from Charli's album Brat. As the song featured on the setlist for both SWEAT and Charli's Brat Tour, Shygirl would make a cameo each night coming on stage to rap her verse on the track. Later, in October of 2024, Shygirl would release the song Immaculate featuring Saweetie. After this release Shy would tease multiple songs for a follow up EP titled Club Shy: Room 2, containing many previously teased tracks. On her Instagram broadcast, Shy described the EP as "[The] same club, different vibe".
