Elmer Bernstein

埃尔默·伯恩斯坦，美国电影作曲家，乐队指挥，1922年4月4日生于纽约，就读于纽约大学，当过舞蹈师、演员、画师、钢琴演奏师。第二次世界大战时曾在美国陆军航空部队广播站工作，后参加联合国广播部搞音乐节目。五十年代初进入美国电影界，由他作曲、配乐的影片不下一百部，电视剧也为数甚多。 他曾为电视剧《成了一名总统》配乐而获得埃米奖，因《金臂人》(1956)、《七武士》(1960，又译《七侠荡寇志》)、《夏季和烟雾》(1961)、《独眼龙双枪歼四虎》(1969)、《黄金》(1974)等片歌曲谱写，获得过十次以上奥斯卡金像奖提名。1967年，他以《非常摩登的米利》获得第四十届奥斯卡最佳音乐配乐金像奖。此外，他还因1962年的《梅岗城的故事》和1966年的《夏威夷》两片获得好莱坞外国新闻记者协会授予的最佳电影配乐金球奖。 埃尔默·伯恩斯坦的电影音乐创作具有音调优美以及活泼、风趣、热情的特点，在美国电影界称埃尔默·伯恩斯坦为“西部的伯恩斯坦”，而称居住纽约的另一位电影作曲家伦纳德·伯恩斯坦为“东部的伯恩斯坦”。作为卓有声望的电影作曲家，埃尔默·伯恩斯坦也曾担任过“青年音乐基金会”主席、美国电影艺术与科学学院第一副主席兼音乐部主席，还担任美国作曲、作词家公会主席五年。
