2006年制作周美玲（Zero Chou）导演的《刺青》（Spider Lilies）电影配乐与主题曲“小茉莉”（作词：林书宇／周美玲，作曲：昆虫白），2007年入围第44届金马奖“最佳原创电影歌曲”。 2007年 昆虫白 就开始以一个人弹吉他并搭配预录好的卡啦CD，在一些场合上表演，这样的 昆虫白 也许不是你所熟悉在“甜梅号”看到那个善于层层堆栈的样貌，也不同于“丝袜小姐”中安静的一员，却是他正式展开个人型态的起点。 2010年“甜梅号”鼓手吴孟谚出国留学休息半年，早在“甜梅号”还没进入暂时休团状态时，无法停止创作脚步的 昆虫白 就已经开始在录音室中录制他酝酿已久的个人专辑。 insecteens, the guitar hero who plays guitar for life.
