1997年，Earle发行了专辑《El Corazon》，为今天他新专辑的推出铺好了道路，似乎他只需要延续其中的风格就大功告成。新专辑将Earle常常被打断的创作很自然得接在了一起，15首作品像是一个连贯的整体。"Everyone's in Love with You"是披头士风格的摇滚，"Wherever I Go"是回忆Tom Petty的作品，如果说这张专辑是卓越出众，那会有夸大其辞之嫌，可是《Transcendental Blues》确实是Earle过去15年音乐生涯中折衷主义的完美体现。它稳定了Earle作为美国目前一流歌手的地位，更是令人对他的作曲天份敬佩有加。
