California’s own Joseph Thomas Youngman, aka Golfgang Gartner, has been around for a long time, and for good reason. Prior to breaking in large popularity from signing with Ultra Records, he released his music through his own label, Kindergarten Records.
Wolfgang Gartner keeps it simple without taking away any energy from the party. His music is ridiculously energetic, and makes everyone move and dance. At his 2014 Lollapalooza Brazil performance, he kept most of the concentration on the music. The entire tent was packed with people, with the lights completely shut down. This set the energy of anticipation extremely high and as soon as the beat dropped the entire tent started to light up with the lighting visuals synced with the music. He started off really strong, using sound bytes from Pink Floyd’s “The Wall.” All you could do was move and dance and be smushed by all the bodies who were doing the exact same thing. For his hour and 15 minute set, he partied up on stage, constantly controlling, adding, changing the beat to keep up the energy, and his signature sound. Especially since there is a huge all things neon and crazy trend in the US, it was really good to just enjoy a DJ who concentrates on the music more than anything.
