LA-based duo Vindata (Branden Ratcliff and Jared Poythress) started out producing Hip-Hop and R&B before infiltrating the electronic dance scene in the early 2010s. With a distinct style that reflected their R&B roots and gospel upbringing, they quickly made their mark as forward-thinking tastemakers. At the height of the EDM boom, Vindata injected a breath of fresh air into the scene. They released their second EP, For One to Follow, in 2014, and attracted the attention of several heavy-weight DJs, leading to remixes for Ellie Goulding, DJ Mustard, A-Trak, Jack Ü, and more. They signed to Skrillex's OWSLA label in 2015, releasing their third EP, Through Time and Space..., and continued to gain recognition over the next two years, dropping singles like "Own Life" (ft. Anderson .Paak) and "Right Now" (ft. Njomza and Alex & Alex). The duo also solidified their place in the Hip-Hop world by collaborating with Fat Joe, Remy Ma & The Dream on the 2017 single “Heartbreak”. Vindata will make their highly-anticipated return in 2021 with their debut album, ...With Opened Eyes, out in June on Monstercat. With tracks and visuals that revisit pivotal chapters in their lives, it’s an ode to the moments that shaped who they are today and where they’re headed. If their storied past is any indication, electronic fans are in for an overdue awakening.
