2009年，来自宾夕法尼亚州中部小镇利蒂茨的四个高中生成立了The Districts。
2011-2012年期间乐队独立发行了两张EP和一张全长专辑"Telephone"。2013年底，在一次live的巨大成功后，The Districts与Fat Possum Records签约，并在2014年初发行了一张EP，包括他们之前发行的三首重制歌曲和两首新歌。2014年，The Districts从利蒂茨迁到费城。2015年2月，该乐队的第二张全长专辑"A Flourish and a Spoil"发布，由John Congleton担任制作。这张专辑在Billboard Heatseekers排行榜上位列第7，在顶级独立专辑排行榜上排名第28。2017年8月，The Districts发布了第三张全长专辑“Popular Manipulations”。
