Interpol is an alternative rock band from New York City. Popular songs include Evil, PDA and NYC. The band's current members are Paul Banks, Daniel Kessler, and Sam Fogarino. Bassist Carlos Dengler departed the band in 2010.
History
In 2004 Interpol was Robert Smith himself chosen to work with The Cure to go on tour. Through this Curiosa Tour Interpol gained more prominence in the United States. In 2010 she toured as support act for the U2 360 ° tour in Europe with 18 September to 8 October. Their single Evil was the final settlement by Studio Brussel proclaimed as the best single of 2005.
Origins
The group was founded in 1998 . Daniel Kessler (guitar) met Carlos Dengler at the New York University and convinced Carlos to play with him and Greg Drudy (drummer). Kessler had Paul Banks (vocals) met several years earlier in 1996when she together in Paris were at Summer School. When the two bumped into each other in New York, Kessler remembered that Banks played guitar, and he invited him to come to the group. In 2000, Greg Drudy left the group and came to Samuel Fogarino drumming in his place
After the fourth album Dengler left the group. This was on May 9, 2010 announced on the official website: "Carlos wants to walk different paths, this is a friendly farewell, and we wish him all the best with his future projects, we will always be a fan of this very talented individual..."
Group
The band played at the beginning without group. Only when she started to get some adherence was decided on a name. Many different stories about it.
Singer Paul Banks was sometimes called laughing through his Spanish friends Pol Pol Interpol.
The name could refer to the style and method of the band, which would be similar to those of the International Police ie Interpol .
In any case, the band Interpol was baptized and not "Las Armas" or "The French Letters", two other options. The result of that name was that she regularly emails were sent from people who thought they were the real Interpol. Early, via their website Paul Banks also said once in an interview that he once after a concert in Brussels was approached by someone who worked for Interpol and had come to look out of curiosity.

On Turn on the Bright Lights he used many effects on his singing because he felt insecure as a singer. The singles "Slow Hands", "Evil" and "C'mere" were also quite successful.
