Original band's influences included bands like Samael, Limbonic Art and The Kovenant. In 2004, the band changed shape and continued as XICON to pursue a more industrial route. Its members remained active in the Swiss musical scene in bands like 3 Days of Silence, Duthaig or drone act Diablerets. Halloween 2019, on its 21st anniversary, Nightshade was resurrected under the sign of the stars with a newfound energy.
