Point Blank Rage

During the summer 2005, guitarist Maurizio, drummer Julien (Crosstitution, Hidden Pride, Doris, Aphasia) and original singer Marc-Antoine Rollet decided to team up to create a new band. Marc-Antoine left the following year to be immediatly replaced by Alex Leblanc (Neuraxis, Atheretic, Mass Murder Messiah). Alex’s first contribution was to christen the new entity Point Blank Rage. The foundation was completed with Pier Natalino Mussini on bass, therefore the line-up was complete on time to record the album "The Sound of Resistance". For this recording, Julien tracked his drums at Victor Studio with sound mastermind J-F Dagenais (Kataklysm, Ex-Deo, Misery Index, Augury, Malevolent Creation, Necronomicon...) who also recorded the other instruments and the vocals at his JFD Studio. Then, at the end of 2006, the band extended its palette with the addition of lead guitarist Eric (Necronomicon, Hidden Pride, Shawn Phillips). PBR played their first show in early 2007 and followed with many shows in support for the album, including high profile gigs with Misery Index, Neuraxis and an appearance at the famous Trois-Rivieres Metalfest. Later, Maurizio left for personal reasons, then Alex left too and joined Neuraxis half way through the writing process of their second effort. This brought lead guitarist Eric to take on lead vocal duties. The following album "Deadly Horizon" marked the arrival of two new members : Rhythm guitarist Jay Vaillancourt (Vaginal Scars, Borguildhur, Nefarious Souls) and bassist Frank Thibodeau. But both left before the album was released, leaving Eric and Julien with the duty of completing the album. The drums for "Deadly Horizon" were recorded in 2011 with Kevin Frenette, while Eric recorded all vocals and strings instruments at his home studio in Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-lac. The album was mixed and mastered by Kevin. Those two albums were released on Galy Records, "The Sound of Resistance" in 2007 and "Deadly Horizon" in 2012. After multiple further lineup changes, the band got a fresh start with the addition of veterans Francis (bass) and Sylvain (guitar) from death metal legends Hidden Pride for following live appearances. Then 2013 saw the return of founding member Maurizio right on time for the creation of the album 'State of Disaster'. The drums for this album were recorded at The Grid with Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy) while vocals and strings instruments were recorded by Alain Londero in his studio. PBR has a full line up again with Julien, Maurizio, Eric and new bassist Mike Sandev who joined in late 2017. The album’s artwork was created by Filip Ivanovic (Agony, Hidden Pride) who designed album covers for many great Death Metal bands such as Agony, Augury, Beyond Creation, Vengeful, Cryptopsy and Origin just to name a few. It also includes a special guess vocal by Sandra Stensen (Nekrodelirium) that was recorded in Grave's recording studio, Soulless Studio in Stockholm, Sweden. A cover song from Incantation (Eternal Torture) and a remake of New Pain from their first album 'Sound of Resistance' completes their 3d album 'State of Disater', rendering it their heaviest and most brutal album to date!
