The Favors

The Favors is a band based in Los Angeles, CA, USA, and consists of friends Ashe, FINNEAS, Ricky Gourmet, and David Marinelli. FINNEAS has collaborated with Gourmet and Marinelli for his 2024 album For Cryin' Out Loud!, and has been good friends with Ashe for many years, making multiple songs together—the most well-known being "Moral Of The Story" in 2019 and the duet "Till Forever Falls Apart" in 2021. In an October 2024 interview on The Zack Sang Show for Willson, Ashe mentions for the first time starting a band with a friend, calling it "a side band project [that is] separate from 'Ashe'"[1]. When asked to look back at the moment they decided to come together as The Favors, Ashe says she was in Nashville in her living room and on a musical hiatus, saying: "When I reached out, I thought I was done with music, I'd lost the joy in it. Selfishly, I was wondering, 'How do I make this fun again for me? How do I fall back in love with it?' I texted FINNEAS and said, 'Hear me out. Should we start a band? We make one album, release it, and call it a day'. He responded with the cutest thing ever, 'This solves all of my problems'. I didn't know what problems he had, but I figured I would happily solve them. Six months later, we were recording"[2]. FINNEAS says he was on a walk in Los Angeles when he got the text from Ashe that read, "'Hear me out what if we started a band….', [I have] never said 'Yes' faster in my life"[3]. On February 4, 2025, the band created an Instagram profile under the name "We Should Make A Band"[4] and teased fans with snippets for months. On April 10, 2025, Ashe posted an Instagram Post captioned "Next chapter loading..."[5], in one of these images (from mid-2024) on the front cover of sheet music the name "FINNEAS & ASHE" can be seen[5], the image is too blurry to read the song title underneath. On May 6, 2025, both Ashe and FINNEAS posted the upcoming 2025 Austin City Limits Music Festival line-up despite neither being listed[6][7]; however, all acts bar one were known, "The Favors", speculation then began online about it being Ashe and FINNEAS' band 2025-present: Debut album The Dream The band simultaneously announced themselves on June 2, 2025 (deleting all "We Should Make A Band" profiles and media in the process), their debut single "The Little Mess You Made" which released four days later, and their debut album, The Dream, to release September 19, 2025
