拜占庭女修道院长，诗人，作曲家。她也是最早的如今可与作品相关联的中世纪作曲家之一，大约有50首左右的颂歌通过东正教的礼拜书籍留存了下来。同时她还有许多短小的格言诗留存了下来。她出生于一个贵族家庭，生来美貌与智慧兼备，843年她在君士坦丁堡的西部创立了一家女修道院并成为院长。她曾短暂旅行意大利，不过最后她定居在希腊卡索斯岛并在那里去世。
