记得是16年3月下旬，我刚得知外婆去世的消息，然后几乎同时在Hype Machine的提前试听第一次遇见这首歌。它讲述的是乐队首脑Michelle母亲的逝世，然而这首歌真的太温柔了，充满美好的希冀，副歌那闪亮的合成器音色每一次都令我内心既奔腾又柔软。
看完《妈妈走后》来听的，封面上就是崇美妈妈啊
但她在outro却不断问道How？听上去是那么令人心痛。而在讲述这些沉重的话题时，电吉他的扫弦从来没有停过，就像一股力量推动你不断向前，此刻，Michelle也应该向前看了。
她回到远在俄勒冈的家中，却看到的是母亲空空的房间，接着她又用一个比喻体现了旁人的安慰此时是如此无用，她问母亲是否相信天堂，因为如果她相信天堂，那么现在她将会更容易地处理母亲的离去。
intro部分的钢琴仿佛是来自天堂的一束圣洁的光，随后架子鼓与电吉他一起迸发将听众拽入一个混沌的悼念中。她巧妙地通过描写狗对环境变化的敏感与表现来表达出自己内心的空虚与失落。她想要向前前行，但她仍无法接受母亲离去的事实，她仍试图去相信梦中的母亲是真实的母亲，她还没有离开。
