基督教中，七象征完美，天鹅象征美好、转变。在印度教和佛教，七是吉祥的数字，在印度教中，七天鹅是创造之神大梵天的坐骑，在佛教中，天鹅象征使者。

这首歌曲取自《圣经·启示录》，讲述了主人公在不信神的情况下，所遭受的一切。《圣经·启示录》中没有提及天鹅，是主人公错将天使认作了天鹅。天使与天鹅类似，有着洁白的身躯与美丽的羽毛。在《圣经》中，数字“7”通常象征着圆满或完美。
这首的声音构造的意象太具体了 就像是大摆锤一次又一次举起来一样
有一则童话故事讲的就是一个国王有七个儿子和一个女儿，王后死后国王娶了个新王后，后妈把公主驱逐出去，其他的王子都变成天鹅，只有在晚上才变成人类。被驱逐的公主找到自己的兄弟们又去找女巫问可以使她的兄弟们变回人类的方法，女巫说要她亲手用蓖麻给每位兄弟穿上…故事好长，不想打了。
在结尾处福音唱诗班一样的合唱“He is the Lord”和舒肤佳重复的唱段“Seven swans，seven swans，seven swans”似是冲天的烈火中，那七只洁白的天鹅代表的宗教符号在《七天鹅》富有神秘色彩的音乐图景之上盘旋。这也引出了专辑内部一个埋藏的问题：舒肤佳究竟在赞美基督教，还是隐晦地与之对抗？
我无法完全理解他在唱什么，但是他在触碰我的灵魂。
