又一位来自五十年代的爵士巨人Phil Woods于去年9月29日去世，享年83岁。Phil Woods曾跟随Lennie Tristano学习，受到Charlie Parker的影响，被称为new bird。他一生中做过很多致敬大鸟的专辑及演出，还娶了大鸟的遗孀Chan Parker。他的第一张个人专辑是Prestige的《Pot Pie》(1954)，产出丰富直至今天。
