曼陀铃是16世纪出现于意大利的拨弦乐器，属于琉特琴家族。文艺复兴时期，多用作牧歌的伴奏；真正将它作为主奏乐器，并创作了协奏曲的就是维瓦尔第一人，这首为两把曼陀铃而作的协奏曲首尾两乐章为“快板”，两把曼陀铃就如同两支自由自在的田园舞曲,是巴洛克乐曲中的精美之作。
