[00:09.70]I've heard that you and your team have just completed a report on old age. [00:14.31]That's right. [00:15.62]Could you tell me what your report is about? [00:18.02]Well, the report basically looks into the various beliefs that people hold about old age and tries to verify them. [00:25.85]And what do you think your report can achieve? [00:28.60]We hope that it will somehow help people to change their feelings about old age. [00:33.90]The problem is that far too many of us believe that most old people are poor, lonely and unhappy. [00:40.01]As a result, we tend to find old people, as a group, unattractive. [00:44.61]And this is very dangerous for us society. [00:47.60]But surely we cannot escape the fact that many old people are lonely and many are sick. [00:53.47]No, we can't. But we must also remember that the proportion of such people, [00:58.06]is no greater among the 60-70 age group than among the 50-60 age group.
