十五年前初一的我参加全市初中组演讲比赛，主题是奥林匹克精神。才艺表演时我演唱了这首SanFrancisco，下面的几个外国评委跟着唱了起来。最后我拿到了全场唯一的90分，获得了冠军和🏆。永远忘不了那天舞台上的自己和台下的我的英语老师，这是他教会我们的第一首英文歌，也是我会唱的第一首英文歌。
这首歌来自蒙特利尔国际流行音乐节，做为1967年“爱之夏”的前奏，这个标榜“音乐、爱和鲜花”的流行音乐节于1967年6月16－18日在离三藩市 不远的蒙市举行。在音乐节开始以前，埃德勒让John Phillips写一首宣传用的音乐节主题歌，他灵感突现只用了一小时就写成了这首歌，并由好朋友Scott McKenzie演唱
这次的音乐节堪称史无前例，太多的世界著名歌手和组合都从这里走出来。值得一提的是，主要制作人之一的Phillips也是the mamas & the papas的乐队队长，著名的歌曲《California dreaming》出自此乐队，乐队的传奇经历，堪比电影的桥段了。
