[00:24.150]Starry' starry night
[00:30.090]Paint your pallet blue and grey
[00:35.770]Look out on a summer's day
[00:39.970]With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
[00:44.280]Shadows on the hill
[00:50.030]Sketch the trees and the daffodils
[00:55.840]Catch the breeze and the winter chills
[00:59.900]In colors on the snowy linen land
[01:07.370]Now I understand
[01:13.120]What you tried to say to me
[01:17.990]How you suffered for your sanity
[01:23.750]How you tried to set them free
[01:26.860]They would not listen
[01:28.360]They did not know how
[01:33.110]Perhaps they'll listen now
[01:39.050]Starry' starry night
[01:45.030]Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
[01:50.780]Swirling clouds in violet haze
[01:54.810]Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue
[01:59.380]Colors changing hue
[02:05.260]Morning fields of amber grain
[02:10.810]Whethered faces lined in pain
[02:14.840]Are smoothed beneath the artist's loving hand
[02:22.520]Now I understand
[02:28.020]What you tried to say to me
[02:33.030]How you suffered for your sanity
[02:38.770]How you tried to set them free
[02:41.970]They would not listen
[02:43.590]They did not know how
[02:48.410]Perhaps they'll listen now
[02:54.150]For they could not love you
[02:59.850]But still your love was true
[03:06.340]And when no hope was left insight
[03:09.660]On that starry' starry night
[03:13.040]You took your life as lovers often do
[03:18.840]But I could have told you' Vincent
[03:21.970]This world was never meant for one as beautiful
[03:28.350]as you
[03:32.850]Starry' starry night
[03:39.100]Portraits hung in empty halls
[03:44.800]Frameless heads on nameless walls
[03:49.240]With eyes that watch the world and can't forget
[03:53.300]Like the stranger that you've met
[03:59.490]The ragged men in ragged clothes
[04:05.300]The silver thorn of bloody rose
[04:09.420]Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow
[04:17.020]Now I think I know
[04:22.700]What you tried to say to me
[04:27.700]How you suffered for your sanity
[04:33.950]How you tried to set them free
[04:36.760]They were not listening
[04:38.520]They're not listening still
[04:43.750]Perhaps they never will
Vincent-David Roth
