好有激情。这首歌讲的是，一个生活在底层的人对中产阶级的嫉妒和憎恨，用勾引和腐蚀一个中产阶级的老婆作为报复。用老外的话说是首关于class war的歌，阶级战争。

Pulp最初给人的感觉很像一支Neo-Romantic（新浪漫）乐队，这主要源自于乐队酷似80年代的电子合成器音效，而专辑中又加上了大量醒耳的舞曲节拍，伴之以Jarvis Cooker病态的、半念半唱的吟颂，又使乐队像一支Glam Rock Band。

从此以后，我再也没能正视过书柜上的那本《普罗旺斯的一年》。

上周在白教堂展览馆见到了Jarvis Cocker🌚 还要了签名留了影得瑟完了拜拜

然而《different class》是朵奇葩，语言露骨直白、却又幽默讽刺，俨然可以成为英国微缩版的《金瓶梅》或者《红楼梦》。十二首歌曲如同十二个微型小说，让你轻轻笑过但又有点心酸。如果我要搞英国文学研究或者自卑心理学分析、或者两性关系探讨之类的，我肯定第一个想到的就是《different class》。

歌词翻译里最重要的一句没翻译出来。'It's more a case of haves against haven'ts. ' 意思是“（这无关男女），而是有产者和无产者之间（的战争）。”

这首歌的主题是“盗窃”，盗窃的对象不仅包括歌词故事里的中产少妇，甚至于音乐形式本身就已经是盗窃，把代表中产阶级品味的宏大古典管弦乐容纳进一首代表底层的“低俗”摇滚乐。这便是阴影里的盛大复仇。
