Lady Madonna 发布于1968年3月，像很多保罗最好的歌一样，这首歌是致敬劳动妇女的，这首歌的麦当娜是一位长期受苦但坚不可摧的女族长，与“Eleanor Rigby”的角色性格一样强硬，又像Let It Be 中Mother Mary一样让人舒服。
在音乐上，它有一个接地气的灵感：Fats Domino的新奥尔良钢琴boogie。录制的版本是对新奥尔良R＆B音乐的全面致敬，并配有萨克斯风。Domino一定是把它当作赞美。这首歌发行几个月后，他发行了自己的翻唱，成为他职业生涯中最后一次百大热门单曲。
