每次睡觉前听着这歌，就会想象自己是将死的骑士，躺在战斗过的绿地上，身旁有自己的猎狗、天空有盘旋的老鹰守护我的残骸不被乌鸦啄食，然后合上眼睛，等着化为母鹿的恋人在日落前赶来将我埋葬。。。
通过三只乌鸦所见描绘一幅画面:一个战死的骑士,躺在地里,旁边有他的狗在看守,上面有他的鹰在飞翔,最后一个母鹿(喻他的情人)以沉重迂缓的步子走到他的身旁,抬起他的头,吻了他的伤口,把他驮在背上,运到一个坑里把他葬了.全篇以一个祝愿收尾:愿上帝赐予每一个骑士这样的狗,鹰,和情人
